Is my hair burnt!!!!?

My friend straightened my hair but i tink she burnt it. She straightened it rite near my scalp. the day after it was greasy straight away but it was mainly my scalp. I just washed it there and it is still the same. It is looks greasy and it is completey flat. I have thin hair to begin with. I then washed it again and it is still the same.Do you tink it is burnt??? and do you tink it will be damaged forever or will it grow out??
