My 1-Year old Bull mastiffs eye is fading to a whitish color and it has alot of sleep(eye boogers) on it. HELP

He turned a year in November and I just now awknloedged his eye color changing when I went to feed him today there is also alot of eye booger surrounding the eye. Is this common? Could this be treated/ cured? Will he be okay? Please do provide me with additional information if possible. Thanks in advance.
